'Never been prouder!' Dodger fans cheer as stadium blocks masked ICE agents

Dodger Stadium blocked masked ICE agents from entering its parking lot Thursday after Department of Homeland Security vehicles were spotted loitering outside the venue, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"It is unclear what operation the federal agents were carrying out or whether anyone in the area was arrested," the Times reported, adding, "The agents declined to say why they were at the stadium when asked by a Times reporter."

ICE agents have been spotted staking out Home Depots in attempts to arrest day laborers. Last week, top Trump aide Stephen Miller reportedly ripped into agents for not arresting more undocumented migrants, asking, "Why aren’t you at Home Depot? Why aren’t you at 7-Eleven?"

Social media erupted into speculation as to what the agents were doing at the stadium and broke into celebration when users learned they had been turned away.

CALL TO ACTIVISM called it "a massive blow to Trump’s deportation machine," adding, "The ICE agents who attempted to gain entry at Dodger Stadium have been REFUSED entry and have been escorted out by LAPD. Good riddance."

"I've never been prouder of my team. Can you dig it?" posted @Colonel_Myway to his 30,000 followers.

Journalist Ed Krassenstein admitted, "I'm a Phillies fan, but Go Dodgers!" while Really American exclaimed, "protesters chant 'ICE out of LA!' This is incredible!"

The L.A. Dodgers organization updated fans with their own post, as noted by @cwebbonline, who wrote, "LA DODGERS just now: 'This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.' Right on, Dodgers! More of this, please."

@DemocraticWins also praised the announcement, writing, "The Dodgers just announced they will prevent ICE from entering their stadium. This is how you stand up to Donald Trump."
