'Doesn't know what to do or how to do it': Ex-senator mocks Trump on MSNBC

President Donald Trump released a statement through his press secretary on Thursday that he would have a plan for the Iran-Israel conflict in "two weeks." Former U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) quipped on MSNBC that Trump made the same comment with several policy promises.

Former George W. Bush speechwriter David Frum and McCaskill both recalled some of Trump's promises that were pledged to be fulfilled within "two weeks" but never came to fruition.

"David is right. I think it was going to be two weeks until Trump gave us his health care plan that was going to be so much better than Obama's. And I believe it was going to be two weeks until we had infrastructure," said McCaskill.

"I mean, there's a two-week theme here, which basically translates into this is a guy who doesn't know what to do or how to do it," she commented.

She also agreed with Frum that the United States is currently very vulnerable.

"If anybody believes this country is comfortable going to war under the leadership of Pete Hegseth, they're not paying attention," McCaskill continued. "And I'd like somebody to get to the bottom of John Ratcliffe, who is head of the CIA, which, are our boots on the ground in terms of assessing where Iran is when it comes to nuclear capability. And Tulsi Gabbard. I mean Tulsi Gabbard is saying the intelligence community says they're not. And then John Ratcliffe says, yes, they are. What? This is where Congress needs some answers."

She went on to issue a warning that the American people shouldn't support any of the military action in Iran if there's no strategy for what victory looks like and what the objectives and risks are.

"And none of those have been explained to Americans," she added.
